In honour of International Women’s Day, we’re excited to share the story of an inspiring female figure behind one of our iconic brand partners: Elise Losfelt of the legendary Charles Heidsieck Champagne!
Elise is the first woman to fill the tremendous role of Cellar Master and Chief Winemaker for Charles Heidsieck , a House synonymous with elegance that's consistently hailed as one of the world's most renowned producers of Champagne wines – a big cheers to that!
In addition to being an agricultural engineer with a master’s in Wine and Vine and holding a national diploma in Oenology, Elise is a mother of three young kids and an avid tennis player, skier and windsurfer… inspiring to say the least!
Coming from a six generations of winemaking tradition, Elise is particularly interested in the intelligent balance between traditional and modern oenology – and how to use that balance to achieve Champagne’s best potential. She’s spent the past 10 years as the guardian of quality at each key step in the Champagne production process, from harvest to disgorgement.; working with cellar masters from Moët & Chandon, Mercier, Ruinart and Dom Pérignon.
As the newest name in a long line of great chief winemakers at Charles Heidsieck, Elise’s talent for setting things in motion is a huge bonus and advantage for the House’s dynamic identity!
